• Parallel lines

    028 2011

Some days are all about making sure that your future free time is not quite free. Today was one of those days.

And the week should be over… but no! Another 24 hours before the weekend…

So to compensate, a little zen-like contemplation - and a huge wedge of homemade bread and butter pudding!

  • Bottom's Up

    027 2011

Nice to celebrate good work done with a wee beer!

Gotta catch up on email now… I may be some time…

  • Finial Countdown

    026 2011

Days are long, and daylight remains elusive. Evenings seem longer, but getting lots done.

In between work work and home work was this picture…

And as of yesterday I have missed three uploads. I guess I need a member account so I can catch up!

  • All Revved Up

    025 2011

I am a blipoholic, and it’s been 26 days since I missed my last upload. Corrected.

I forgot to upload this because I actually hoped that something better would turn up later in the day. Some days it just doesn’t work out.

Sadly today lasted a few hours longer than a working day should. The trauma of catching up from a fortnight of flu I guess.

The final instalment of the Retrospective Blip Trilogy. Let’s hope it never needs a reprise.

  • Woodvale Thomas

    024 2011

This handsome boy rarely gets called by his kennel name anymore. He is more often called eedjit or pea-brain.

    But we love him!

  • Horse Whisperer

    023 2011

Ignore them, and they will come! Apparently.

Went out and about today, camera in hand. But the day was dull, and I have not worked out how to take advantage of that. Suggestions welcomed.

Oh well, I did meet Ed here, lovely beast that he was!

  • Lazy Day Sunset

    022 2011

Today. Walk about. Laze about. Kinect hacking on my Mac. Coffee and chat with a fellow blipper.

Tonight. A bottle of wine and the family.

    And. An outdoor picture.

    What’s not to like?

  • Tea Cup of Memories

    021 2011

Adventure has not been my middle name thus far in 2011 - and I make no promises. Instead, another visit to the past.

I used to ‘granny sit’ when I was a bairn, and was fascinated by her china tea set, which of course I took to be ancient and priceless.

It has since trickled down the family line and remains a treasure, even if not the wondrous artefact I once assumed in my single-digit years.

But still gazing at the bottom of the tea cup and seeing that face gazing back… lovely!

  • Little Ted

    020 2011

So perhaps this is not a journal entry, more of a retrospective…

This guy features in the first photograph ever taken of me, quite a few years ago. He has stick with me through thick and thin.

What’s your first toy? Why not blip it?

  • Backlit Tree

    019 2011

The daylight hours elude me as I arrive at and leave work in twilight at best!

But if I can get a few clear nights I might get a chance to try some Astrophotography! In the meantime have a backlit tree…

This whole iPhone daily pic thing is still high on the fun factor… but I would rather not repeat myself, I would rather not repeat myself, which might start to get quite challenging! And I must remember to pick up the camera every now and then too…

  • Self Portrait II

    018 2011

Lack of blipping time leads to a self portrait!

Been a busy day, and an evening of relaxing…

  • Couttie's Wynd

    017 2011

Sunshine in January got me out and about for a stroll around Dundee. Since it was sunny I figured it was a great chance to get a picture of a dark alley!

  • Ready for the Road

    016 2011

A combination of weather, holiday, and illness conspired against my poor garaged car getting out for a month! But now it’s preparing to be free again!

And a combination of not ever having photographed my entire car satisfactorily, and the fact that I actually quite like quirky details and odd angles leads to today’s blip…

Back to work tomorrow for the old motor.

  • Arbroath Marina at Night

    015 2011

A little evening journey took us via Arbroath Marina. Not that impressed by the night time capabilities of the iPhone 4 camera, or perhaps the photographer needs to practice more…

  • The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

    014 2011

    Yikes! A book!

Just finished reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer. A quaintly unassuming book, which is unlikely to light fires in bellies, but will no doubt bless a good number of hearts with a warm fuzzy feeling.

I imagine it would make an excellent ITV drama of the sort I thoroughly dislike!

  • Back to School

    013 2011

    Back to work today!

Glad to be, but not quite prepared. Better luck tomorrow…

  • Things are looking up!

    012 2011

The family are finally over this flu thing, and I am glad to be heading back to work tomorrow. And it also means I will have fewer excuses not to blip.

    Ho hum. Missed two already!

But today, things are looking up! Even my better half thought so… So many photographic challenges, and portrait taking is just one of them…

  • Caught on Camera

    011 2011

After my primary blipping device was featured, in a previous blip, I thought it made sense to do the same treatment for my Nikon. It’s a d5000. It and me, we are still getting to know each other…

But blipping remains an iPhone pastime… for now…

  • Badly Drawn Dog

    010 2011

The first in a series of poorly crafted dog portraits…

This is our eldest greyhound. She is a little self-conscious, a touch paranoid, and has a love of cheese and onion crisps.

Retrospective blip number two, as I never managed it into work today - and I am sure you are now wondering if I make it in tomorrow.

The tension builds. And I already know the answer.

  • Winter Escape

    009 2011

Today ended five days of incarceration. It’s a little chilly! But a short dog walk has got to help body and soul.

The subject is The Elms, a favourite spot, and a woefully neglected building.
