Portal 3
Finished work “on time” tonight. Then ate. Then went out in daylight. Marvellous.
The plan tonight is to not have a plan. Plantastic!

Text Messages
Some days involve saying so much that there is nothing left. Sometimes it’s nice just to read text messages…
Spent. Like a cartridge. Or a pay packet.

Empty Bed
Having just recently blipped Meghara, the mad old dog of the family, today we bid her farewell.
Never a happy day in a home to lose a dog, especially one almost as old as your kids, a constant in their lives.
She was grumpy and loving in equal measure, just like her bipedal family. The postie might be able to deliver mail without too much fear now, but we are down one lovely, hairy fur ball.
Goodnight Meghara, sleep ye well.

Bookmarked
The book guardians blipped here, travelled all the way from Thailand to protect our household’s reading matter. I am struck by the irony of their lack of eyes.
-
Harbour Lights
Four hours courtesy of ScotRail. I am glad I don’t have that as a daily commute, but it’s a relaxing mode of transport.
Spent the double journey catching up with a backlog of video content I had been promising myself…
In the middle of that a healthy dose of having my work micro-analysed, criticised, and corrected. Debating, justifying, accepting. Not a process for the faint-hearted, I suspect. Call me odd, but I rather liked it!
And home. Poke o’chips (and a pickled onion) at Arbroath harbour. Lovely.

D I S C O
Was given a masterclass in song-writing today. Though I am not sure I learned anything.
Got all old and bearded tonight and drank some bottled ale! It’s had an effect. I have started listening to Sylvester and forgetting I am up at 0630 tomorrow.
You. Make. Me. Feel.
Mighty. Real.

Meghara
Finally got a picture of Meghara, the grand old lady of the house, on my iPhone. She’s a light sink, an overly hairy, canine black hole.
She was rescued some 15 years ago, and was already at least a couple of years old at the time. She combines cuddly and cantankerous in a compact yet rotund quadruped body form. Grumpy engineering at it’s finest.

Captive Worlds
Tonight I wore my ‘Party on Darth’ t-shirt, and remote desktop’d into my work Windows box.
I feel like such a rebel. Of course predictive text had me feeling like a ‘revel’ but I really can’t cope with the confectionary lottery.
Yeah you guessed it, slow news day today!
Actually I had my haircut, and introduced my hairdresser to Blipfoto, so maybe a new recruit is incoming. Short hair is short!
-
Lemons
Today (BackBlipped from tomorrow) was busy. Then I spent the late evening chatting about tech with old friends while being canvassed to join an exclusive club.
Not sure if they are desperate or I am special…
Anyway, I ran out of time. Some pictures are lemons!
-
Brownie Carnage
Not some Christian youth orchestrated anarchy, rather a current obsession by our youngest to make ever richer chocolate-confectionary.
Today…
Had a productive meeting. Turns out that’s not an oxymoron after all.
-
Veni, Vidi, Cedi
Just outside Whigstreet lies the Whig Street Wood. The site of a third century Roman temporary camp.
Today the sun was trickling through the trees, and we had to stop to capture it.
I even took some pictures with my Nikon, which might make it to Flickr later today.
It’s a funny thing, the desire to Blip, and the self-imposed iPhone restriction on that, has actually reduced the amount of times I step out with a camera bag. So new resolve is needed, as that was not the general idea!
-
Atomic Sunset
Looking at houses today. Mixed bag! Nice day for it though. Sunshine and hail!
Then watching some rugby.
And now the sun sets on a peaceful family day, and the evening beckons the Chianti…
-
Twilight
Home before dark. Hurrah! Just.
Family movie night tonight. Not Twilight, not for us. Lost Boys! A classic! Lovely!
-
Vented
Virtual meetings about virtual organisations which operate in virtual worlds, discussing what to some appear to be very real issues.
People and perceptions. Perplexing.
How do I turn this thing on?
-
Lacking Vision
Had a nap this evening when I got home from work. How old am I?
Anyway. Today I lacked vision. And I am not often enough taking pictures in daylight. This blipping obsession is hard to bare when you realise you have an hour left of the day, and you have not taken a single picture.
-
Le Taxi
Drizzle me some more, weather system. It’s not as if a sunset would be nice for blipping purposes or anything!
Oh well, great opportunity to remind myself that transporting one’s children is a vital and highly skilled job and I am lucky to have it.
And in the other world…
Was ill-prepared for meeting today. Now have professional guilt. I will try to make up for it tomorrow with some facilitating, a little cascading, and maybe pinch of empowering. Not a bad plan for a Wednesday.

Close Encounters
Four hours sleep last night. Not looking great for tonight. And here I am, inflicting another ‘self portrait’ on the world of Blip.
Well. Kinda.
52nd blip. I should have been clever and taken a deck of cards or something…
-
Water Tower
Dog walking tonight.
Walked by the local water tower. A great example of Victorian engineering, it was built by the local unemployed at the end of the 19th century. A practice that would likely not go down so well today.
It’s a lovely building, even if it may be seen now as part folly. I wish more buildings were as grandly conceived.
-
Apples & Oranges
Moonlighting today!
Enjoyable enough, but sure shortens the weekend…
And now having a relaxing beer and listening to some Pink Floyd, thus the song title inspired blip.

Greyhound Philosophy
The greyhound.
Lazy. Our hounds have a passion for general lounging. The comfier the spot the better, preferably on top of you.
Fast. 45 miles an hour in 6 steps. Apparently. All I can say is by the time you react to their pace to shout them back, they are already almost out of earshot.
Canny. Beautiful. And cuddly too! They encapsulate a philosophy to life, and everyone should live it!
See previous blips for actual pictures of our hounds. And the black sheep of our dog family will be making an appearance one day soon.
